Whether you’re a beginner building confidence to shoot strangers or an experienced photographer wanting to push your work further, this workshop is built to give you the necessary tools to capture the decisive moment more consistently and dynamically than you thought was possible.
A hands on, small group learning experience in the streets of NYC.
Each workshop is focused on small group learning. You’ll get one-on-one time to ask questions, work alongside Jeremy and see real-world examples of photography techniques. All while surrounded by the energy and opportunity of New York City. Each workshop is currently limited to 6 participants and includes your instructor and one additional rotating guest host/photographer.

Jeremy Perez-Cruz is an award-winning photographer and creative director who has spent the last 15 years photographing the streets of New York City.
Jeremy’s photography is deeply observational and emotive. His images represent a human instant, glimpsing the world at a singular time and his @sleepingplanes instagram account captures spontaneous, honest moments of meaning in everyday life in New York City.
His work has been published globally and he has captured candid, improvisational photography for clients such as Apple, Google, Sotheby’s, Adobe, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

It depends on the time of year but workshops typically begin between 9:30–11:00 AM and run for approximately 5-6 hours.

There will be a fair amount of walking. We typically cover 3 or more miles during a workshop so we recommend comfortable shoes. There will be scheduled breaks for rest, water and provisions.

Workshops are outdoors, rain or shine. Be prepared for varying weather conditions, from heat of the summer to snow in the winter. Dress appropriately. In the event of a force majeure, the workshop will be rescheduled or refunded.

There is no requirement to have a specific camera to participate. Anything from phones, to point and shoots, to mirrorless, to DSLR will work.
There is a benefit to having a digital camera so we can critique photos in real time, but digital is not mandatory. We love film.
